Are you looking for a way to engage your class in a science topic? Then our exciting animal-handing workshops are just what you need! Many children (and teachers) have told us that our visit was their “best day at school – ever!”
Why choose Meet A Creature?
Flexible to meet your needs: we’ll tailor our workshops to exactly what you want. We can adapt the content to illustrate a particular topic or adjust the length of sessions to fit your pupil numbers or school schedule. Just contact us to discuss your requirements.
Safe and experienced: We have more than six years’ experience in delivering fully risk-assessed animal workshops in schools. We have an excellent record for child safety and animal welfare and numerous teacher recommendations. We may not always be the cheapest but our prices reflect the quality of our service. When booking animal workshops we strongly recommend that you check the provider’s public liability insurance document – we’re happy to send you ours.
What will you get?
A hands-on animal experience which is guaranteed to inspire and excite your pupils. We focus on the topic of your choice from our EYFS, KS1, KS2 and SEN workshops, or ‘made-to-order’ presentation. We can also offer additional activities from animal-themed educational games, to a team exercise to create a food chain, plus free teaching resources.
What type of animals do you bring?
We have a range of safe mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and mini-beasts. This is a real hands-on experience and every child will be shown how to handle them with care and respect. You can see a full list of our animals here. We do understand that some people are nervous of spiders and snakes – just let us know if you want to avoid them.
How much does it cost?
Our prices are competitive and start from £250 plus travel for a two-hour visit. Most schools arrange for several classes to meet the animals during a full day as this cuts the cost per hour and per pupil. Contact us to find the best package for your school.
How do I make a booking?
It’s quick and easy, just contact us and we’ll guide you through. We’ll confirm everything quickly by email and supply risk assessments and liability insurance details in advance.

How long are your workshops?
As part of our fully flexible service, the duration and number of sessions can also be adapted to suit your school. For instance, a three-hour half day could include three 55 min sessions for different classes or six 25 min sessions.
Alternatively, we can provide a full or half-day programme for a single group of pupils including animal handling and a related science activity.
What happens on the day?
We arrive in good time to give your pupils a fantastic animal-handling experience. Our rangers will bring their DBS document and ID for you to check. We even have a ‘thank you’ gift for the staff member who makes the booking.
Do I need to provide anything?
We just need enough space for pupils to sit on the floor so that they can handle the animals safely with no chance of dropping them. Just let us know if any of the children have special needs so we can make sure they are able to fully enjoy the animal experience.
How do I contact Meet A Creature?
We’re happy to respond to queries during weekends and evenings and aim to get back to you within 24 hours, usually less.
