We are excited to announce that Meet A Creature has added three young dragons to its animal family, with names inspired by TV series Game of Thrones.
The newest members will be a great addition to our animal workshops for primary schools, as well as children’s party experiences.
These beautiful lizards are Chinese water dragons, named Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion. The trio are native to China and south east Asia and are normally be found near water as they are great swimmers.
Our little dragons (pictured above) are a big hit with both adults and children. They may not breathe fire like their namesakes but they have some amazing features including a hidden ‘third eye’.
Our aim is to help children appreciate some amazing animals which they might not otherwise get to see, and to learn about why we need to respect animals and protect their habitats. We encourage children to feel and hold a range of different types of creatures – including these dragons – which are completely harmless and quite content to sit on a child’s hand.
The three are already inseparable and are often seen basking together. Drogon, the largest, lets the other two lie on top of him for a nap. Below are their namesakes from Game of Thrones – we think there is quite a similarity!
If you are a teacher why not take a look at our curriculum-based workshops which include a variety of amazing creatures to inspire your pupils?
For parents looking for kids’ party ideas an encounter with our dragons and other animals is sure to make your child’s special event the one everyone will be talking about in the playground. Whilst Game of Thrones is for an older audience, the popularity of dragon fiction and films makes them an exciting subject for a party experience. This includes, of course: How to Train your Dragon, Harry Potter, The Hobbit and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
